The Model
When more than 5,000 fans of the TV show Moonlight organized more than two dozen blood drives around the USA, Canada and the UK in support of their show (its stars' characters are vampires) – collecting enough blood to save 5,000 lives and producing more than 100 highly positive press mentions – YouChoose recognized an opportunity for companies to contract with YouChoose to create "Fan Apps" for their brands. These Apps leverage the YouChoose Distributed Social Networking technology and grass-roots marketing methods to extend the marketing reach of these companies and their brands and to better engage their fans, supporters and customers.
Viral distribution. By hosting the "official" Fan App for popular brands, YouChoose will attract new members to those Apps. YouChoose is rolling out a redesign of the YouChoose App that clearly "announces" its "multi-channel" capabilities. Because of this, new members who are introduced to YouChoose through a Fan App will quickly discover other channels of interest on their YouChoose App.
Revenue Opportunities. The Moonlight campaign alone provided producer Warner Bros. with direct advertising value of approximately $3 per month for each YouChoose member who participated in the campaign. We show the math for this in the "Revenues" section.
